Bike Month Proclamation Celebrated by Many
Lebanon County Commissioners Litz, Phillips and Ames proclaimed Bike Month 2012 at their May 3rd meeting. Celebrating the occasion were many representatives of organizations and businesses that recognize the importance of bicycling in the County not only for residents but also visitors whether they are mountain biking, trail riding or pedaling on scenic roads. Representatives from PA Commuter Services, the County Tourism Promotion Agency, Jonestown Borough and Elementary School, Northern Lebanon Recreation and Parks, Lebanon City’s Mayor, County Planning Department, GIS Office, bike shop owners, E&E Metalfab, Swatara and Memorial Lake State Parks joined LVBC members in celebration of bicycling not only in May but throughout the year. First Aid and Safety Patrol participated to show their support for educating bicyclists as they know what can happen if helmets are not worn properly or traffic laws not obeyed. Barb and Walt Haber received the Proclamation on behalf of all bicyclists in Lebanon County.
